Jefferson to start, Simpson still hampered by back injury

Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson passed league-mandated concussion tests and was back at practice on Thursday. Head coach Leslie Frazier expects Jefferson to start alongside veteran cornerback Antoine Winfield.

Minnesota's secondary has been resilient this season, an impressive accomplishment considering rookies Harrison Smith and Josh Robinson have played significant roles.

Wide receiver Jerome Simpson was supposed to be better than the 15 catches and zero touchdowns he's had this season, but he wasn't supposed to have a back injury -- an injury that Frazier says is still bothering Simpson. The lower back injury has limited Simpson's speed and ability to cut.
