Longtime Vikings followers may miss the voice of Jim Klobuchar, the longtime Star-Tribune writer who chronicled the Purple People Eater's finest days.

Klobuchar, however, still writes about the team, in a weekly column for MinnPost. In our opinion, it's some of the best stuff out there about your favorite football team.

His column is usually posted on the day after the game. Today's deals with Adrian Peterson, and his 61-yard touchdown run, which ended with a "high-stepping finish ... and announcement of simple exuberance."

Williams has revived Vikings' defense

Last year the Vikings defense finished 31st in the NFL, allowing more than 28 points per game. This season, under first year defensive coordinator Alan Williams, the defense is allowing just 15.8 points per game -- good for sixth best in the league.
