Joey King is the lone senior player for the Gophers and his season might be over.
The forward from Eastview High School fractured his right foot in Minnesota's loss to Wisconsin earlier this week. He won't play in the regular season finale against Rutgers on Saturday, and it's "highly unlikely" he'll play in next week's Big Ten Tournament, the Pioneer Press reports.
"Obviously, that is a crushing blow," head coach Richard Pitino said, via the Pioneer Press. "It makes a difficult situation much more difficult. But we just have to move on and do the best we can."
Minnesota is already without five players who have either been suspended or kicked off the team, so they're down to seven players on the active roster the rest of the season.
- Nate Mason - suspended
- Kevin Dorsey - suspended
- Dupree McBrayer - suspended
- DaQuan McNeil - kicked off the team
- Carlos Morris - kicked off the team
