Twins sign deals with left-handers Liriano and Perkins

On the last day to swap salary figures, the Twins agreed to terms with starter Francisco Liriano and reliever Glen Perkins -- who avoided arbitration. Liriano comes back with $5.5 million, Perkins with $1.55 million. Both deals are for one year. The team could not reach terms with Alexi Casilla, who is also eligible for arbitration.

Twins sign Glen Perkins to 3-year extension

The Twins say they’ve signed reliever Glen Perkins to a three-year contract extension. It’s a $10.3 million dollar deal, good through the 2015 season. General Manager Terry Ryan calls Perkins a “reliable” reliever, especially in the setup role.

Twins sign second-round pick, Jose Berrios

The Pioneer Press reports the Twins have reached a deal with second-round draft pick, Jose Berrios. The right-handed pitcher from Puerto Rico agreed to a $1.55 million signing bonus. He was the No. 32 pick in the draft.

Twins finalizing September call-ups

The Twins will put the finishing touches on September call-ups when infielder Eduardo Escobar and reliever Luis Perdomo join the team on Tuesday. Escobar was the main player the Twins received when they traded Francisco Liriano to the White Sox. Nick Blackburn and Brian Dozier will not be recalled from Triple-A Rochester.
