The Timberwolves dropped to 0-2 after a tough loss in California against the Sacramento Kings late Saturday night.
The Wolves had a 65-54 lead at half-time over the Kings, who they beat four times last year, but by the end of the third trailed by 85-77.
Despite tying it up late on, the Kings had just enough in the tank to squeeze over the line 106-103.
This was despite the best efforts of Andrew Wiggins, who went for 29 points and a rebound, while Zach LaVine had 21 points, five rebounds and two assists.
The Tom Thibodeau era opened with a 102-98 loss to the Memphis Grizzles and it's been followed by another tough defeat.
"The third quarter was a problem, a big problem," Thibs told FOX Sports after the game, "so we've got to take a look at the film and see what the issues are."
On the plus side for Wolves fans, they play their next game in front of their home crowd for the first time this season, playing the Grizzlies once again as they come to Target Center.
