Koivu supports Yeo, coach addresses team with job rumors flying

Author:

No one could be more happy than head coach Mike Yeo and the Minnesota Wild to see 2013 in the rear-view mirror.

The club ended the year with their sixth straight loss last night, a team record for most defeats in a row.

After the game, captain Mikko Koivu refused to pin Minnesota's bad run of play on the head coach, saying "it's our job to play the game."

While Koivu taking responsibility for the losses has to serve as a morsel of comfort for Yeo, it didn't stop him from addressing the team at today's practice, saying he still believes in the group.

With the loss last night, rumors have begun to fly surrounding Yeo's job security, and with one Minnesota head coach having just been dismissed, upheaval seems to be in the air.

Russo stated last night that eventually the "bomb will drop", with that coming on either a coaching change or trade.

The Wild will shuffle their lines, with Yeo saying "we're throwing a lot at the wall and we need something to stick."
