The Milwaukee Brewers opened their weekend series against the Twins with a 10-5 victory, Friday night.

Two big defensive miscues in the eighth inning allowed Milwaukee to score two runs and re-take the lead. The Brewers then held off the Twins the rest of the way. A two-out double by Carlos Gomez put the go-ahead run in scoring position, Adam Lind followed with a line drive to right that was misplayed by Torii Hunter, allowing Gomez to score.

Jonathan Lucroy followed with a pop up, barely 30 feet in front of home plate that fell between Twins reliever Casey Fien and catcher Kurt Suzuki, allowing Lind to score from second.

Things unraveled from there in the ninth inning.

Lind finished 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and six RBIs in the game. But he wasn't alone as Milwaukee was swinging for the long ball early on against Twins starter Kyle Gibson.

Jean Siguera led off the game with a solo home run. In the second Jonathan Lucroy added a solo shot of his own before Lind delivered the big blow with a three-run bomb in the third giving the Brewers a 5-0 lead.

Gibson settled down to finish seven innings before leaving the game, while Brewers starter, and former Twin, Kyle Lohse opened the game with four scoreless innings.

Minnesota battled back in the fifth, highlighted by a three-run homer from Joe Mauer to tie the game – Mauer's second of the season.

But just as quickly as the Twins fought to get back into the game, the late miscues took them right out of it.

The Twins and Brewers continue the series on Saturday afternoon. J.R. Graham makes his first start for the Twins against another former Twin, Matt Garza.
