The Minnesota Lynx got back in the win column on Saturday night with a dominating 93-56 win over the Dallas Wings. Lindsay Whalen could not be stopped, scoring a season-high 22 points and shot 11-13 from the floor in the win.
After a back and forth battle to start the game, the Lynx went on a 20-4 run to finish the 1st quarter and would close out the first half leading by 26. Halftime didn't seem to cool them off either as Minnesota eventually led by 40 points.
Minnesota played smothering defense too, setting a new team record for opponent field goal percentage.
With the win the Lynx improve to 16-4 and will hit the road on Tuesday to play the San Antonio Stars.
A plea for change
Before the game started, the Lynx captains held a press conference to announce they would be wearing a special warmup shirt to address the recent shootings and murders across the country.
