International skiing star Lindsey Vonn has suffered from depression from years and takes anti-depression medication to treat it, she tells People magazine.

The St. Paul-born Vonn has often led what appeared to be a glamorous life as the most decorated U.S. skier ever. But the Olympic gold medalist has quietly battled depression to the point where, in 2008, "I couldn't get out of bed anymore. I felt hopeless, empty, like a zombie," she told People.

The 28-year-old skier, who filed for divorce last year from her longtime coach Thomas Vonn after four years of marriage, tells the magazine she is a lot cheerier these days.
