St. Paul native Lindsey Vonn's hopes of winning a fifth World Cup title are still alive after she won the Super G event Saturday at Saint Moritz in Switzerland, CNN reports.
Vonn, 28, failed to finish the Super Combined race Friday, but the win Saturday keeps her in contention for the title. Vonn is 167 points behind leader Tina Maze of Slovenia and four points behind Maria Hofl-Riesch of Germany, who is in second place.
Vonn won the season-opening race a week ago at Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada.
A gold medal winner in the downhill in the 2010 Winter Olympics and four-time overall World Cup champion, Vonn recently resumed competition after being hospitalized last month for "severe intestinal pain."
