Adrian Peterson playing for the Detroit Lions? It's not out of the realm of possibilities.

"I think AP still has plenty left in the tank," Lions general manager Bob Quinn said Monday, via The Detroit News. "We'll see how it goes."

Detroit needs a No. 1 running back but they only have $10 million left in cap space, according to Spotrac, which is less than all but five teams.

Peterson remains unsigned three weeks into free agency but says he's in no rush to find a new team.

“You can’t believe everything you read or hear people,” Peterson wrote on Twitter over the weekend. “The last thing I’m worried about is playing ball this coming season. That will happen! It’s not all about the money as everyone is speculating here lately. You’d think these analysts spoke to me directly. When you don’t know what’s going on people will say anything to create or make a story!”

Peterson was likely referring to a report from ESPN that said he hasn't signed yet because he's asking for $8 million in the first year of new contract.

The Packers have also been linked to Peterson, but a recent report from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler says Green Bay does not plan on bringing Peterson in for a visit.

Peterson turned 32 on March 21 but he's only played in 20 games over the last three seasons.
