Nothing about the boys basketball game between Marshall and Waseca Thursday night is believable.

Seriously, stuff like this doesn't happen in real life:

  • Marshall's 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime.
  • Marshall's steal and layup to force a 3rd overtime.
  • Waseca's full-court heave at the buzzer forced a 4th overtime.
  • Waseca hits a 3-pointer at the buzzer to win in the 4th overtime.

Maybe one or two of those things happening in a game is possible, but not all of them – not with a berth in the State Tournament on the line.

The game was so good that SportsCenter led with it on its Friday morning broadcast.

“It was so surreal,” Nick Dufault said of his full-court prayer, via the Waseca County News. “I don’t know how else to put it, I’m so thankful.”

The radio highlights (get all the video here) from Waseca's radio crew – KOWZ-AM 1170 and Marshall's KMHL Broadcasting tell the story. Big props to announcers Don White and Ryan Rohlik for some ridiculous calls.
