Losing streak snapped! Twins win in Cleveland

The Twins (9-26) snapped their 8 game losing streak on Saturday with a 6-3 win over the Cleveland Indians. Ervin Santana gave Minnesota a quality start going 6 innings allowing just 1 run; striking out 6 batters.

Cleveland made it a 2 run game in the bottom of the 8th, but the Twins scratched 2 more runs in the top of the 9th.

Kevin Jepsen picked up the save in the win despite giving up a home run to Yan Gomes. Jepsen has allowed a run in three straight appearances.

Backup catcher Juan Centeno had another solid day at the plate, hitting his first professional big league home run.

In 61 career at bats before joining the Twins, Centeno had just 10 hits. In four games with the Twins this year, Centeno has 5 hits in 11 at bats.

Joe Mauer was in the leadoff spot again for the Twins and collected 2 hits today. In 15 at bats out of the leadoff spot this year, Mauer has an OBP of .467.
