Lynx beat Sky to lock up WNBA's best record


The Minnesota Lynx ended the regular season in strong fashion with a 79-66 victory over Chicago at Target Center.

The game featured four legitimate MVP contenders, as Lindsay Whalen scored 23 points to lead the way and Maya Moore added 22 points and 11 rebounds to go with six assists.

The Star Tribune reports that the game could have been a preview of the WNBA Finals. The Sky, the Eastern Conference champions entered the game having won nine of their last 10 games, while Lynx the top seed in the upcoming playoffs.

Also for the Lynx it was also their 80th victory since the start of the 2011 season.

The Lynx will open the playoffs on September 20th against Seattle.
