Lynx douse Sparks in 72-64 win, snapping two-game losing streak


The Minnesota Lynx put an end to a two-game losing streak Sunday, returning home to douse the Los Angeles Sparks in a 72-64 win.

The Lynx held the lead for most of the game, but the the Sparks narrowed the gap to just one point halfway though the fourth quarter.

It didn't last long though, thanks to recently acquired Olympian Sylvia Fowles, who scored six points and grabbed four rebounds in the fourth quarter, the Star Tribune reports.

Fowles had 15 points and nine rebounds, and Maya Moore lead the Lynx with 20 points.

The Lynx wore pink for Breast Health Awareness Night and fans received pink bandanas. The special pink jerseys were auctioned off after the game, according to

During Breast Cancer week, the WNBA raised more than $2 million for research.

The Lynx are 16-6 overall and still hold the best record in the league.

Minnesota hosts the San Antonio Stars Tuesday. The Stars are 7-16. Game starts at 7 p.m.
