Lynx fall short after epic comeback in Game 1 of WNBA Finals
The rematch of last year's epic five-game WNBA Finals is off to an unbelievable start after the Los Angeles Sparks took Game 1 by a score of 85-84 Sunday at Williams Arena.
Maya Moore was incredible, finishing with 27 points to lead Minnesota all the way back from an early 28-2 hole. Moore capped her scoring with a layup to put the Lynx on top 83-82 with 6.5 seconds left in the game.
After a timeout, the Sparks got the ball to Chelsea Grey for the game-winning jumper with a hand in her face.
The giant first-quarter deficit was too much for the Lynx to overcome, even though outscored the Sparks 82-57 after going down 28-2.
Game 2 of the series returns to Williams Arena at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
