The Minnesota Lynx jumped out to a 1-nothing series lead over the Seattle Storm with a 80-64 win Friday night at Target Center.

The No. 1-seed Minnesota was led by 19 points from Seimone Augustus, and 17 points from two-time reigning Wester Conference Player of the Month, Maya Moore.

The game was close until the Lynx outscored the Storm, 22-12 in the third quarter.

Head coach Cheryl Reeve told the Star Tribune that she wants nothing to do with being upset in the first-round.

“We’ve been on guard all week,” Reeve said. “Upset city doesn’t live here, in Minneapolis.’’

Rebekkah Brunson scored 18 points. Earlier on Friday Brunson was named the WNBA All-Defensive second team, according to the Star Tribune.

Game two of the best-of-three series is Sunday in Seattle at 4:00 p.m. CT.
