Orlando Magic 96

Minnesota Timberwolves 93

The Minnesota Timberwolves fell to the Orlando Magic 96-93 Tuesday night at Target Center. The loss stops the Wolves from moving over .500 on the year.

1. Wiggins good, but not quite clutch enough

Andrew Wiggins had a big night for the Wolves, but it might be the one he didn't make that hurt the most.

Wiggins finished with 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting, but after drawing a foul with just over five seconds remaining he missed a free throw that would have tied the game.

2. Wolves stumble out of the gate

The Wolves were slow to get anything going against the Magic. Minnesota scored just 14 points in the first quarter and were ice cold at the start of the game.

3. Towns sits down

Wolves post Karl-Anthony Towns played just 22 minutes in the game. It was a rough night for the rookie, who scored just six points and was 2-of-11 shooting.

Towns did grab six rebounds, but stayed on the bench for most of the second half as Gorgui Dieng put together a solid night with 11 points and seven rebounds in 29 minutes in the loss.
