Matt Blair named to Vikings' Ring of Honor

Former Vikings' linebacker Matt Blair will be the newest member of the team's Ring of Honor. The team announced Monday that Blair will be inducted during a halftime ceremony of the Vikings' regular season game October 25th against the Buccaneers.

Doleman to enter Vikings' Ring of Honor

He’s not in the NFL hall of fame yet, but the Vikings say former defensive end Chris Doleman will join the teams’ Ring of Honor. Doleman, an eight-time Pro Bowler, is fourth on the all-time sacks list. He’ll be honored before the Packers game on October 23.

Vikings guard Anthony Herrera has been honored by teammates with the 2011 Ed Block Courage Award. Herrera underwent knee and elbow surgeries during the off-season before returning to his starting role. The award is designed to honor players committed to the principles of sportsmanship and courage.

Vikings sign hard hitting CFL star Solomon Elimimian

Canadian Football League star linebacker Solomon Elimimian is the newest member of the Vikings. The team announced it signed Elimimian to a $390-thousand futures contract on Tuesday. He was named the hardest hitter in the CFL last season.
