Maya Moore named Western Conference player of the month

Lynx superstar Maya Moore has been named the Western Conference player of the month for August, the WNBA announced earlier today.

Moore led the Western Conference in scoring for the month at 21.6 points per game and led Minnesota in clinching another playoff berth, their third in a row.

Moore eclipsed the 25-point plateau four different times in the month, including a WNBA season-high 35 points, while also securing two conference player of the week honors.

Local pundits love the run of form Moore is in right now.

She'll have the chance to keep it up when the Lynx take on the LA Sparks tonight at Target Center, Minnesota has won four in a row and are at the top of the Western Conference standings.
