After all five players went undrafted, McKnight said it's a "blessing" to "get a chance to play football again."

Report: Vikings sign former Gophers defensive tackle Anthony Jacobs

Anthony Jacobs was signed by the Vikings on Tuesday, according to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com. Jacobs was one of five Gophers invited to the Vikings' rookie mini-camp last weekend and he apparently impressed enough to stick around. The defensive tackle finished his senior season with the Gophers with 26 tackles and one sack.

Rookie mini-camp begins at Winter Park

The Vikings are back in action with rookie mini-camp at Winter Park. Coaches are finally able to go one-on-one with the players they coveted throughout the draft. It's also a great opportunity for undrafted rookies and camp invitees to make a name for themselves.

Greenway expected to be at mini-camp

The Vikings three-day, mandatory mini-camp runs Tuesday-Thursday this week and linebacker Chad Greenway is expected to be in attendance on day one. He missed most of the organized team activities to spend time with his father, who is in hospice care battling cancer.

No Golden Gophers were taken in the seven round NFL Draft, but a couple of former Gophers are now Packers. Running back Duane Bennett and tight end Eric Lair signed with Green Bay as undrafted free agents.

Eight Golden Gopher football players along with other players hoping to hear there name called during the NFL Draft worked at at the Gophers' pro day on Monday. U of M tight end Eric Lair and defensive end Anthony Jacobs did well in the physical drills and were called on for post-workout interviews.
