Milone shines as Twins shut out White Sox; Sano homers again

Tommy Milone tossed seven shutout innings and the Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago White Sox 3-0 Wednesday night at Target Field.

It was one of Milone's (7-4) best starts of the season. He held the White Sox to three hits, while striking out seven without a walk. Trevor May cruised through the eighth inning and Kevin Jepsen picked up his 10th save by throwing a perfect ninth.

Milone, May and Jepsen combined to retire the White Sox in order in six of the nine innings Wednesday night.

Miguel Sano did it again, crushing a majestic looking home run to center to lead off the second inning – his second in as many nights and his 15th of the season.

Plouffe finished 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs on the night, while Kurt Suzuki also was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Kyle Gibson (9-9) is on the mound for the Twins in the series finale Thursday afternoon against Chicago's Jeff Samardzija (8-11).
