Joe Mauer will miss the final 14-games of the season with a mild case of pneumonia. The announcement came before the Twins Friday night game against Cleveland. In all, Mauer played in 82-games and finished with career lows in nearly every offensive category.

Jutting out as coach at Minnesota State

Troy Jutting has agreed to step down as the head hockey coach at Minnesota State Mankato University. Jutting, who also played for the Mavericks, will take over other administrative duties until his contract expires next year. He's been Minnesota State's head coach since 2000.

Minnesota State-Mankato hires new head hockey coach

Mike Hastings has agreed to replace Troy Jutting who was fired after 12 seasons with the Mavericks men's hockey team. Free Press reports Hastings signed a four-year contract worth $225,000 a year. Minnesota State-Mankato has struggled in the WCHA finishing 11th in the last two seasons.
