Minnesota pitchers ink lucrative deals

Author:

When you think top end baseball talent, Minnesota isn't the first place that comes to mind.

Despite that, former Gopher Tom Windle and Lino Lakes native Chris Anderson went high in the MLB Draft late last week, and have been rewarded handsomely for their stellar college careers.

It may seem strange for the Dodgers to draft them both and invest so much in players from a state where baseball is unplayable five months of the year, but LA has their reasons.

Windle's counterpart DJ Snelton, who was taken in the ninth round by the San Francisco Giants, remains unsigned, and the Twins top pick, Kohl Stewart, is still without a contract as well.
