Minnesota State-Mankato's baseball will take the field against the University of Tampa in the Division II National Championship game Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in Cary, North Carolina.

A victory would complete a dream season for Mavericks manager Matt Magers, who tells the Pioneer Press that he's very confident his team can win the title.

"I like our chances. We're going to be able to come back with Harvey Martin, who is the national pitcher of the year. I've told people we're just starting to hit our peak."

Martin is the team's ace, but it was Jason Hoppe who set an NCAA record for most consecutive innings pitched (55 1/3) without allowing a run in Thursday's national semifinal win over St. Edwards.
