Minnesota State-Mankato defeated Michigan Tech 6-1 Saturday to earn the weekend sweep and move into second place in the WCHA race, the Associated Press reports.

Freshman goaltender Stephon Williams tied a career high 37 saves for the Mavericks, WCHA.com reports.

Meanwhile, the Duluth News Tribune says the University of Minnesota-Duluth came from behind to tie Bemidji State 1-1 Saturday.

The Gophers face the Badgers at Soldier Field on Sunday. It is Minnesota's first outdoor game under head coach Don Lucia.
