Twins invite 25 non-roster players to spring training

Relief pitcher Phil Dumatrait, catcher Rene Rivera and outfielder Brian Dinkleman were among 25 non-roster players invited to Twins' spring training on Tuesday. All three spent time in the Big League roster last season. Spring training begins when pitchers and catchers report to Fort Myers, Florida on February 18.

Twins finalizing September call-ups

The Twins will put the finishing touches on September call-ups when infielder Eduardo Escobar and reliever Luis Perdomo join the team on Tuesday. Escobar was the main player the Twins received when they traded Francisco Liriano to the White Sox. Nick Blackburn and Brian Dozier will not be recalled from Triple-A Rochester.

Twins add three to 40-man roster

The Twins stayed busy on Friday adding three names to the 40-man roster. Outfielder Oswaldo Arcia, reliever Carlos Gutierrez and lefthander Tyler Robertson were added. Minnesota also signed former Angels reliever Jason Bulger to a minor league contract.

Jim Souhan has an intriguing idea that would shake up the look of the Twins' infield. His idea would be moving Brian Dozier from shortstop to third base. That would put Trevor Plouffe on the bench. The shortstop? Pedro Florimon ... a slick-fielding minor leaguer.
