Bouchard won't re-sign with Wild

Author:

Pierre-Marc Bouchard will not re-sign with the Minnesota Wild and will become an unrestricted free agent July 5.

NBC Sports cites Bouchard's agent Allan Walsh as the source for the news.

One of the longest-tenured players in Wild franchise history, Bouchard was the Wild's first-round selection at the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Now 29, Bouchard put on his Minnesota jersey at age 18, and appeared in 565 regular-season and 21 playoff games. This season marked the last year of Bouchard’s five-year, $20.4 million contract.

He missed 149 games from 2009-12 due to concussion issues, but appeared in 43 contests last season.

The Wild's lineup will certainly look different after today's NHL draft.
