Baseball owners also cleared the way for the Houston Astros to move over to the A.L. Western Division, starting in 2013.

Major League Baseball is adding a second Wild Card team to each league beginning this season. There will be a one game playoff between the two Wild Card teams in each league. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire says the one game playoff is "exciting for one day, and then somebody goes home and you're still pissed off."

Wild reassign rookie Brett Bulmer to junior team

The Minnesota Wild have sent rookie forward Brett Bulmer to Kelowna of the Western Hockey League. Bulmer, 19, had three assists in nine games in his NHL debut. Because he hasn't played 10 games in the NHL, the first season of his three-year NHL contract has not started.
