Monday morning quarterback: Minnesota's killer P's

The Vikings improve to 2-6 with a win over Carolina. How did they do it? Peterson, Ponder and Percy.
Author:

Ponder. Peterson. Percy. One is a bona-fide superstar (Adrian). Another is on his way (Harvin) and the rookie (Christian) has given Vikings fans a jolt of much-needed hope in an otherwise dreary season.

As we rehash Sunday's 24-21 win over Carolina, those three -- the Killer P's (with apologies to Jim Brunzell and B. Brian Blair) -- were at the crux of Minnesota's first road win in 10 months.

First, Percy Harvin. Brian Murphy of the Pioneer Press writes the Vikings' clubhouse was in awe of how tough he was Sunday despite nursing sore ribs -- toughness that helped propel the Purple to a rare road victory.

As for Ponder, the Star Tribune's Jim Souhan says he makes the difficult look routine. When was the last time that was said about a Vikings quarterback -- including Brett Favre?

Then there's AD. Or AP. Call him what you will, but the NFL's best running back looks as good as ever. As Yahoo! writer Doug Farrar put it, Ponder has to be "thanking his lucky stars every day."

So how did the Carolina writers see Sunday's game? Well, let's just say they were stung -- by disappointment.
