Pro Football Focus ranked Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater as the NFL's most efficient passer over the final six weeks of last season, so it's no surprise than one of Pro Football Focus' analysts believes Bridgewater is on target for a breakout second season in the league.

Mike Clay, in an article for ESPN Insider, says all of the statistical data points to Bridgewater getting better.

"As Bridgewater enters his second season, there are many reasons to believe he will emerge as a fantasy-relevant passer. It's certainly a bit of a concern that the Minnesota offense finished 27th in plays per game and 28th in touchdowns, but that was after what was basically a complete offensive rebuild."

PFF's numbers back up the claim.

Bridgewater completed 63.7 percent of his passes 5-plus yards downfield and 51.3 percent of attempts 15-plus yards downfield. Drew Brees and Alex Smith were the only quarterbacks more efficient on the shorter passes while Brees and Ryan were the only two more accurate passers on the 15-plus yard attempts.

Bridgewater has spent this week in Orange County, California, working out with tight ends Kyle Rudolph and Devon Bostick, wide receiver Charles Johnson and running back Jerick McKinnon, the Pioneer Press' Brian Murphy reports.
