NHL approves conference realignment, Wild out of Northwest Division

The NHL Board of Governors has approved a major change to realignment. The new format wipes out the current six divisions in favor of four conferences. The Wild will join Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Nashville, St. Louis and Winnipeg. Each conference will include seven or eight teams.

Wild's comeback falls short in shootout loss to Blackhawks

The Wild could have easily folded after going down 2-0 to the Blackhawks a night after losing a hard-fought game in Winnipeg, but rallied twice and earned one point in a 4-3 shootout loss to Chicago. Kyle Brodziak, Matt Cullen and Mikko Koivu scored for Minnesota.

Blackhawks send Wild back to the loss column, 5-2

The Minnesota Wild failed to push its winning streak to two games as they were pounded by the Blackhawks 5-2 Thursday night in Chicago. Three goals in the second period proved to be too much for the Wild, who received goals from Devin Setoguchi and Kyle Brodziak.

Wild look to slow down surging Sabres

Minnesota will try to extend their two-game winning streak when they visit Buffalo Saturday night. The Wild are close to elimination, but mathematically still alive in the Western Conference playoff race. The puck drops at 6:00 p.m. central.
