The Wolves and Wild are in the midst of their longest breaks of the year thus far, with the Wolves having not graced the hardwood since Sunday, and the Wild not skating in a game since Monday. It's nearly unprecedented that both of the winter pro sports teams are on such an extended lapse at the same time, leaving the sports landscape a little baron this holiday season.

What's a Minnesota sports fan to do? Perhaps taking an interest in your local high school sports teams is a good place to start, as they continue to grind through the holidays with some big time tournament action on the horizon.

Courtesy of the Star Tribune, here are listings of all the metro schools' teams and where they are for tournaments this holiday season.

Additionally, MN Basketball Hub also has your sports craving covered, with all the tournament listings around the state from EP to Granite City.

If you play your cards right, you might even get to see the state's top player, Tyus Jones, in action against other top-level teams at Saint Cloud State University.

Upcoming weekend provides plenty of WCHA action

The upcoming weekend features all twelve WCHA teams battling each other in league play. Among the match-ups, the Gophers play a home-and-home series with St. Cloud State. Wisconsin battles Colorado College, and North Dakota meets up with Bemidji State.
