No punishment for Crosby after slashing off player's fingertip

Sidney Crosby's slash wound up destroying a player's finger.

Sidney Crosby is the golden boy of the NHL and he's getting the golden-boy treatment even though he shattered a guy's finger with a vicious slash Thursday night.

If you can't stomach a mangled finger and blood, this video is not for you.

Ottawa's Marc Methot left the game with his fingertip dangling. "His finger is destroyed. It's shattered and he's out for weeks," Senators coach Guy Boucher said, according to ESPN.

The NHL is not looking into the play and Crosby will not be punished.

ESPN adds that Crosby says he didn't intend to injure Methot. But what's his excuse for the dirty play he had earlier this week when he whacked Buffalo's Ryan O'Reilly where the sun doesn't shine? If that's not dirty play nothing is.
