Northern Minn. senior sets boys basketball career scoring record

Lakeview Christian Academy senior Anders Broman set the state high school basketball career scoring record Thursday night against Mesabi East, the Duluth News Tribune reports.

Broman needed just seven points going into the game to break the record and ended up scoring 42 points in the Lions' 100-87 victory, giving Broman 4,122 career points.

The previous record holder was Minnesota Transitions' Kevin Noreen who earned 4,086 career points in 2010.

Broman is headed to Division I South Dakota State next year.

Lakeview will face Chisolm in the Hibbing Holiday Tournament semifinals Friday night.
