Nyquist stays undefeated; wins Kentucky Derby

On Saturday evening Nyquist won the 142nd Kentucky Derby held in Louisville, Kentucky. Coming into the race, Nyquist was also the favorite to win the event.

Early on, Danzing Candy jumped out to an early lead but on the final stretch Nyquist pulled ahead to win the race.

Coming into the race, Nyquist was undefeated (7-0); according to ESPN, he's the eighth undefeated horse to win the Kentucky Derby.

His jockey, Mario Gutiereez, won his second Kentucky Derby and secured his third Triple Crown win.
