Olympic gold medalist skier and Minnesota-native Lindsay Vonn made quite a splash over the weekend.

No, it wasn't at the ESPYs or similar red carpet event -- it was at the homecoming dance at a Colorado high school. Sophomore Parker McDonald worked up the courage to ask Vonn to be his date when he spotted her on the slopes in Vail.

Vonn says it was impossible to turn down the offer -- and says she’d never been to a school dance before.
