One year later: Peterson returns from devastating knee injury

Last year was a tough Christmas Eve for many Minnesota Vikings fans. It was one year ago today at FedEx Field in Washington, D.C., when Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson was tackled by the Redskins defense in the third quarter and tore both his ACL and the MCL in his left knee.

Watch the video clip below:

Peterson is now 102 yards away from the 2,000 yard mark and 208 yards away from shattering Eric Dickerson’s NFL single-season rushing record.

The Star Tribune picked Peterson as its Sportsperson of the Year winner on Saturday.

No. 28 is also on the cover of Sports Illustrated once again.
