Osseo's Bridgeport Tusler named AP prep football player of year

Osseo running back Bridgeport Tusler is the Associated Press Player of the Year.

Tusler, who rushed for 1,173 yards and scored 23 touchdowns, also played stellar defense -- leading all Twin Cities metro area teams with eight interceptions.

The AP also named its 2012 All-State prep football teams, as voted on by statewide sportswriters and broadcasters.

Apple Valley sophomore point guard Tyus Jones was named the Minnesota Associated Press boys basketball Player of the Year on Tuesday. Joining Jones on the AP All-State team: Siyani Chambers of Hopkins, Joey King of Eastview, Tyler Vaughan of Braham and Johnny Woodard of Duluth East.
