Vikings Pro Bowl kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson explained to Sports Illustrated why the Vikings collapsed after starting the season with five straight wins.

"We got a big head. We was 5-0 going into the bye week," said Patterson. "First thing I'm thinking is we getting a first round bye in the playoffs. Who wouldn't think that? The only team that was undefeated at the time. We came out that bye and I feel like nobody was ready. We thought we was ready but mentally and physically we wasn't there."
