PGA Tour Superstore opening in Minnesota this spring

A giant interactive golf store is expected to open in the Twin Cities just in time for some of the season's first tee times.

The PGA Tour Superstore plans to open its first location in Minnesota "this spring," a news release says, and will feature 12 golf simulators and hitting bays, lessons from PGA professionals and a 1,500-square-foot putting green.

“We are excited to bring the best experiential destination in golf retail to Twin Cities golfers during what is sure to be a banner golf season highlighted by the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine, right in our new backyard,” PGA Tour Superstore President and CEO Dick Sullivan said in the release.

The 41,000-square-foot store is slated to open at 12380 Wayzata Blvd. in Minnetonka, where Sports Authority recently vacated.

It will be the largest golf retail store in the area, the release says.

"This is an incredible market for golf, and we believe the area is underserved for golf retail," Sullivan added.

A precise opening date hasn't been set, but the company plans to hold a job fair from March 3-5. The store plans to employ up to 50 people, including PGA teaching professionals. For information on available positions, click here.

Currently, there are 25 PGA Tour Superstores in 12 states.
