Richard Pitino, the Gophers men's new basketball coach, hasn't been around Jerry Kill very long, but he can already tell Kill is a tremendous leader.

In his latest blog, Pitino said Kill is an inspiration.

"Nobody is doing that right now better than Gopher football's own Coach Jerry Kill," Pitino wrote, according to the Pioneer Press. "Coach Kill loves the game of football, relishes the opportunity to coach and appreciates every day he has with his team. It will take a lot more than a tough disease to keep him from it. He is truly an inspiration and I am proud to be able to work with him. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind he has this program going in the right direction!"

Pitino also applauded Coach Kill with a twitter post.
