A slurring Michael Floyd had no idea why Scottsdale police removed him from his car after finding him passed out at the wheel of his SUV last Monday.

In the video obtained by TMZ, police body camera footage shows Floyd had no idea he slept through two green lights before police woke him up and ordered him out of his car.

"You sat through two light cycles and you were asleep behind the wheel," the officer explained to Floyd. "That's why all this is happening."

Floyd told police he was coming from his house to pick up his nephew at the airport.

Two days after the incident Floyd was released by the Cardinals. The New England Patriots then claimed him off waivers

"Yeah, we were aware of his situation when we claimed him," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Wednesday, via ESPN. "He's in an ongoing legal situation I'm not going to comment on."

He did not play in Sunday's Patriots-Broncos game in Denver.

ESPN says Floyd was charged with obstructing a roadway, DUI impaired to the slightest degree, DUI blood alcohol content above. 08, and failure to obey a police officer.
