Preseason: Blues bury Wild with 4 third period goals

The Minnesota Wild wrapped up the preseason portion of the schedule with a 4-1 loss in St. Louis Friday night.

Minnesota took a 1-nothing lead into the third period, but the Blues got busy in the final frame with four goals.

The Blues did the damage with some local Minnesota flavor.

Former North Dakota star T.J. Oshie scored the first goal, and Spring Lake Park native, David Backes, lit the lamp for the third St. Louis goal.

Jared Spurgeon's power play goal was Minnesota's lone goal.

Josh Harding started in goal for the Wild and stopped all 15 shots he faced. Prospect Johan Gustafsson replaced Harding and gave up all four goals.

The Wild finish the preseason with a 4-2 record. The real games begin next Thursday against the Los Angeles Kings.
