Michael Beasley rides off to the Suns

His scoring average dropped off and Derrick Williams seems ready to take his spot in the lineup. So it's not a complete surprise that Michael Beasley is leaving the Timberwolves and following the setting sun to Phoenix.

Wolves hit road, face Suns -- sans Rubio

The Timberwolves, short one Ricky Rubio for the rest of the year, start a crucial seven-game road trip tonight in Phoenix. Minnesota is back to .500 after back-to-back home losses to the Lakers and Hornets. They’re also a game-and-a-half out of a playoff spot, behind Houston.

After splitting a pair of games in L.A.’s Staples Center, the Wolves are in Phoenix tonight to take on the Suns. Kevin Love, who sat out last night’s loss against the Lakers with flu-like symptoms, should be in the lineup.
