The young woman who made headlines for going topless at a Minnesota United game last month is now out of trouble.

Minneapolis resident Rose Picklo, 23, was charged with indecent exposure in front of a child, a gross misdemeanor.

But the city attorney's office has instead dropped the charges against her altogether. A spokesperson tells GoMN the case was dismissed "based on prosecutorial discretion."

In other words, prosecutors simply decided to let Picklo off the hook.

The city didn't elaborate any further as to why, but according to the Star Tribune, Picklo herself said it was "because the arrest was a gross violation of my civil liberties."

At the Loons game in question, which happened Saturday, Sept. 23 at TCF Bank Stadium, Picklo took off her shirt and exposed her breasts.

Police officers were called, and a confrontation ensued, with Picklo refusing requests to cover up, and acting "belligerently" toward the officers, prosecutors said. She was soon handcuffed and physically carried out.

Picklo later admitted she was a "little bit tipsy" and "on my third beer" at the time, and police eventually found out one of the witnesses was a 7-year-old boy, hence the gross misdemeanor charge.

But as City Pages points out, the incident sparked debate about a woman's right to go topless in public – which is largely frowned upon, even though men can bare their nipples without consequence.

Minnesota "topless activist" Faith Neumann (who organized a "Go Topless Day" in Minneapolis a couple of years ago) tells the paper she respects Picklo's "intent, if she was just hot, or if she was just a fan" – like her shirtless male counterparts at the game.
