The Texas Rangers topped the Minnesota Twins, 2-1 in a close game at Target Field Thursday night.

Josh Willingham's solo home run was the only offense the Twins could muster against the Texas pitching.

Starter Nick Tepesch cruised through six and two-thirds innings, allowing just one run while striking out five.

Game two of the four-game series is set for Friday night.
