Rashad Vaughn back in Minnesota to work out for Timberwolves

Rashad Vaughn is back in Minnesota.

The former Robbinsdale Cooper high school standout will work out for the Timberwolves Monday in advance of this month's NBA Draft, according to multiple reports.

The Associated Press spoke with the 18-year-old, who averaged 18.3 points per game as a freshman at UNLV before declaring for the draft. He's been on a run of workouts recently as he hopes to solidify his draft stock.

Darren Wolfson of KSTP and 1500 ESPN tweeted he'll work out with a handful of other players.

The Wolves, naturally, aren't the only ones eying the 6-foot-5 guard.

He worked out for the Atlanta Hawks (who pick No. 15) Saturday in the Twin Cities, Marcus Fuller with the Pioneer Press tweeted. He apparently had an "impressive" workout in Miami late last month, the Miami Herald reported, did work for the Washington Wizards brass Thursday, the Washington Post said, and will head to Boston this week, Comcast SportsNet New England writes.

Vaughn is expected to go in the middle or end of the first round of draft on June 25.

Which means if the Timberwolves want him, they'll likely have to do some maneuvering. Minnesota has the No. 1 pick in the draft – expected by many to be Karl Anthony-Towns or Jahlil Okafor – then don't select again until the first pick in round two (31st overall). They have another pick that round too, No. 36.
