Mankato West lights up scoreboard

The Red Scarlets poured points on the scoreboard all night in a 74-14 win over Albert Lea. According to the Mankato Free Press, Mankato West jumped out to a 30-0 first quarter lead, and increased the margin to 47-0 at the half. Senior quarterback Ryan Schlicte completed just 10 passes, but five went for touchdowns.

Ex-Viking's coaching debut spoiled

St. Michael-Albertville looks like a really good team again this year. They blew out Buffalo, 42-0 last night, spoiling former Viking quarterback Todd Bauman's debut as Buffalo head coach.

Rain soaks new turf at Triton

A new turf field at Triton High School withstood a soaking rain, but Triton couldn't handle Kasson-Mantorville. The KoMets, a State Tournament team a year ago, won the game 30-6. The Rochester Post Bulletin reports the sloppy conditions helped cause a combined nine fumbles.
