Another setback for Twins pitcher Nick Blackburn.

The Star Tribune says the righthander had another surgery last week on his pitching arm and won’t be ready to throw when camp opens next month.

Blackburn has been targeted as a potential fifth starter in the Twins revamped pitching rotation.

The news came as the Twins kicked off its annual Winter Caravan tour, a 50-community swing through the upper midwest over the next 10 days -- which leads into TwinsFest at the Metrodome Jan. 25-27.

This morning, manager Ron Gardenhire told Fox Sports North that he's "pumped up" to get going again, but said fixing the starting rotation was "desperately needed."
